A Few (too many) Contributions

Seven Vietnamese Caryatids

The Vietnam War Memorial is one of my favorites.  This photograph has not been Photoshopped or otherwise altered.  It's a 90 second exposure at about 9:00 at night (Oct. 22).  The Caryatids are me posing in front of each panel for about 7 seconds shining a flashlight into my face (hence the blurriness).  Because the exposure is so long, you can't see me moving from one spot to the next.  The second set of lights on the ground between my figures are reflections off of the panel.  The tops of the panels reflect the traffic coming from the Lincoln Memorial off to the the left.  Street lights and trees on Constitution Av. comprise the very top.

I really like all the statuary in DC.  Gives the city a classical feel.  Sunset Oct. 23, 2012

I neglected to disclose that I "borrowed" the idea for the 6th photo (Republican House) from a photo published in the WAPO a year or two ago.

The Seven Vietnamese Caryatids image is particularly haunting! Very nice. -- Roger Hammons
