In and Around U Street

I took advantage of the sunny weather last Sunday and explored neighborhoods around the U Street corridor.  I wanted to capture some of the excitment and life on U Street as well as the few remaining pockets of urban decay that are quickly disappearing.  Two photography exhibits at the National Building Museum were the source of much inspiration.  "Detroit Disassembled" by Andrew Moore http://www.nbm.org/exhibitions-collections/exhibitions/detroit-disassembled.html and "Detroit is No Dry Bones" by Camilo Jose Vergara  http://www.nbm.org/exhibitions-collections/exhibitions/detroit-is-no-dry-bones.html.  I'd highly recommend seeing them.
